See inside: A new-build home near Lake Wylie with a custom pantry and closet

Millison Wright reached out to California Closets “as soon as the ink was dry on the contract” for her new home.
Here’s why: She had worked with Morgan Haynie, Design Manager at California Closets, for her last home, so she knew they were the team to tap.
Morgan and Millison worked together for nine months to customize the home’s walk-in pantry and primary closet.
The results: The spaces are as beautiful as they are functional, and they look seamless with the rest of the home’s design.
Looking ahead: Millison is now in the process of building her next house, and she’s already called on Morgan and the team at California Closets to help make the spaces in it better, too.
How would you describe your style?
Millison: I like to think of my home as cozy, calming, and functional — with little pops of razzle dazzle all throughout.
- An example: It’s filled with clean modern lines that are warmed by rich woods and layered earthy textures.
How did you incorporate that style into these rooms?
Morgan: We focused on clean designs with small things like a glass countertop in her closet and gold hardware and baskets in her pantry.
What are your favorite parts about the projects?
Millison: I love the clean white and simple gold hardware used in my closet — a timeless combo.
Even better: In my pantry, I love the ability to hide my larger appliances in the upper cabinets, and the pull-out drawers where I keep my favorite brands of water.
Morgan: I loved adding simple glam with a clear glass countertop — you don’t need to spend a ton of money to add some unique touches to any space.
- We also created a cabinet for linen storage, so the space has a lot of purposes!
What do you like about working with California Closets?
The best part of working with California Closets is definitely the people.
The proof: When I met and worked with Morgan on my first home, the process was so easy. She understood what my needs were (she even counted my shoes to ensure there was enough storage!), and focused on functionality.
- She also listened to me from a design perspective. When I saw the final designs all I could think was ‘she nailed it!’
Even better: I’ve had the most prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable closet installers ever.
